I think the computer, sensor and wiring side of things was ruled out when the injector change from cyl 2 to cyl 1 resulted in the problem moving with it, but certainly no harm in requesting all this to be double checked and the fault codes down loaded from the computer. I doubt the computers were sufficiently sophisticated to do independent cyl injection back then, it is a rare system that can do it now and mostly only high performance petrol or LPG liquid injection engine managementjon_d wrote:Keith,
I've said this on a few other places.
Please make sure they certify that the electronics is ok. The the electronic sensors are faulty, it could be causing the computer to squirt more fuel. aka over fuel.
If they don't check the electronics, and a sensor is faulty, or the computer is faulty, they'll be doing another rebuild again.
Also, ask them to put it on a dyno and confirm the air/fuel ratio is ok.
Question for the repairers, what readings are stored in the computer? If it was over fueling so much to cause an engine faulire, the codes in the computer must have been going beserk.
