Yes, it was about 54mm over both of the quickly passing storms.
I did go for a drive today & could see the path of the EXTRA wind.
It went in a Easterly direction across the bottom edge of the town. It really only caught the very outside street/houses and further South to the airport.
It is a FIFO airport with hundreds of mine coloured cars/utes left in the parking area.
It always amazes me how quickly the water disappears and the soil dries out.
First time I came to Qld I found it hard to understand why they had such wide and deep drains on the road/street sides.
Bernie is still whinging about the water ........... reckons he's buying a houseboat!!
Hope he finishes that bloody paving before I arrive!!

Re: Where's Bruce?
If your lucky he will have had the child labour going all weekend, but I think he said he was sending them home. Cos he knew you were thereabouts.
I still remember the first time I saw 100mm of rain in an hour. It was up at Weipa in 1998 and half an hour after the rain you could have gone racing again. Except the beer tent was open while it was raining.

Same thing when I moved to Moree when Just A Lad & new to shaving...
Roads one way had the deep drains along them, roads at 90deg to them had to negotiate the Big Dips both sides.
Got my Mini airborne when I crossed an intersection the 'wrong' way @ 35mph!

Cost me a new gearbox casing...

Re: Where's Bruce?
Went for a little drive yesterday with 'birthday girl'.
Mackay, Goodes Lookout, Collinsville & back. Let me tell you we found a lot of outback!!
We found the most fantastic camping spot but I'd advise no big MH's or highway caravans.
What a goldmine!
