Re: New name AVIDA for Winnebago
Aus Winnebago have to state that its the aus version, and not use the fancy W (mark). My bet is that within 2 years or so they will drop any mention of Winnebago anyway, about time they gave away the apron strings

Well how long has Winnebago (Aust) been trading under that name in this country, even though they were not connected to the US version. I honestly think that a court would take that into consideration as a complete name change and branding of something so known is not a simple matter and yes I agree they will probably use "the Australian Winnebago" for a bit and then drop that once the new name is better established.

Looks like Avida or more Knott Investments are about to loose a few more $$. Apparently the court finding were handed down yesterday and the order was to pay the American name owners 1% of all sales from 2004 onwards, that could really hurt the viability of the new company no matter what name they use. Not good news for them really because I think they did offer to just be the USA Winni agent initially before they were refused.
