Re: Water Pump
I did the Google thing, they do look good, high flow and high pressure with an internal bypass, pity I've already bought the early style pumps. Might have to put it down to experience and put them in the spares dept.

Re: Water Pump
G'Day Peter,
I thought the pressure switch was internal and adjustable. Going on memory here so could be wrong, which wouldn't be unusual, just ask the bride..... have to do some more reading. Sent out emails asking for prices but nothing back so far. Plenty of 12v around but I was thinking 24v.

Re: Water Pump
In the installation PDF they say how to adjust the bypass pressure and high pressure cut off switch and what the diffrential should be to stop the pump from running continuously or hunting swo the switch appears to be part of the pump. you might need to look at US sites to find 24v units.

Re: Water Pump
Hi Dirk, keep us informed on the pressure switch and the pricing for a 24 V unit, may need to be like Terry and put one in the spares department. Regards, Hans. Ps any photos yet of the internal fitout??????

Re: Water Pump
G'Day Terry,
24v are around just not popular, no real reason that I need the 24v just wanted to keep everything in the water departments the same.
G'Day Hans,
I'll look into the pressure switch now that its been mentioned. I see they run at 55PSI. Nothing happening on the internals at the moment to damn hot to work inside, high 35's today. Been fitting water tanks and slide out outdoor kitchen and slide out laundry in the bins. If the bride reckons I am doing the cooking from here on in, seeing I wanted this slide out kitchen, then I am damn sure she will be doing the laundry stuff, so I'm not leaving anything to chance and everything there also slides out for easier access. Crikey I am good to her no wonder she fought to get me.....Lol.

The installation data states "pressure switch not supplied}
AND certainly no evidence of one on ANY of the illustrations

Most certainly one should be used & the cutout set at some point BELOW or SLIGHTLY ABOVE the "BYPASS relief "starting to operate.

The only advantage is a more constant flow rate under SOME conditions[while the by pass is operating]
I am sure we would not want one running unnecessarily/ continuously on a high by pass flow using battery supply[ except maybe Lipos with ample recharging available

Also they are not continuously rated
,
24V models are available

Re: Water Pump
That's what I was reading, the by pass valve now that you mentioned it not the pressure switch. Outlet filter is also an extra.

I'll have another read but I couldn't see where they said the pressure switch isn't supplied.oldtrack123 wrote:HI TerryT1 Terry wrote:In the installation PDF they say how to adjust the bypass pressure and high pressure cut off switch and what the diffrential should be to stop the pump from running continuously or hunting swo the switch appears to be part of the pump. you might need to look at US sites to find 24v units.

This was the bit I was going off:
About The By-Pass NOTE: By-pass adjustment should be performed by professional technicians with proper gauges and equipment.
The by-pass is a spring loaded diaphragm that opens up allowing water from the discharge side back to the inlet side.
The by-pass is set to begin opening at about 40 psi and creating full by-pass at about 62 psi (for 55 psi models), lower pressure pumps will vary depending on the by-pass and pressure switch settings. If the switch or by -pass are adjusted too much, the by-pass and switch shut-off can overlap and THE PUMP WILL NOT SHUT OFF. Screwing the switch screw in clockwise will raise the shut-off pressure. Unscrewing the switch screw counterclockwise will lower the pump shut-off pressure.
Screwing the by-pass screw in will raise the pressure at which the by-pass starts and raise the full by-pass pressure.
Unscrewing the by-pass screw counterclockwise will lower the pressure at which by-pass starts and lower the full by-pass pressure. WARNING: If full by-pass is reached before the shut-off setting, the pump will not shut off. Full by-pass pressure setting should be at least 5 psi higher than pump shut off pressure.
I can see where they mention a strainer must be used with the unit but no mention of the pressure switch being a seperate unit. Maybe it's in a different bit of doco, the one i've got is the installation and maintainence manual
