Are the organisers providing tinnies for the audience?Shirley wrote:Country & western show on foreshore at Gwandalan bowling club on Sunday, if anyone in the area is interested.

If not, I hope the chairs float!
Been lurking on this one. Finally had to insert my 2-cents-worth...
Described on one Melb TV news bulletin as "rain of Biblical proportions"... sounds about right from the reports: 40 days & 40 nights.

I don't remember anything approaching the recent weather when I lived in Warners Bay (1951~1966). Summers were long & hot, then.
Although I do remember as a tike (1954, I think) being taken to the hill near 2HD (as it then was) to see half of Maitland drift past on floodwaters up to roof-gutter level.

Quite a spectator sport, it was. Not much in the way of entertainment then... we were part of a fair crowd on that hill, as I remember it.

Although the Gummint subsequently spent a lot on levees & other flood mitigation measures, it seems some of the lessons have either been forgotten or ignored by developers!
