a friend (?) gave me a Coopers Ale recently:

I have a Coopers Ale in the fridge that I shall consume shortly. I am practicing for our return to Adelaide.

I recently threw out a few stubbies that had been chilled a couple of times & ruined.
Not being a beer drinker I made enquiries.......... Often wondered why I was asked at the bottle-O if I wanted cold or 'natural' ....
Only buy cold if you intend taking them straight to a fridge!

Coopers red label is brewed in the bottle, well the last part is anyway. I learnt very quickly you don't drink Coopers red label from the stubbie if you are like me and don't down it in one go. The trick is to very carefully pour it into a glass so you don't stir up the contents and leave the last bit in the bottle, then leave the last bit in the glass as well. An excellent drop if you avoid the lumpy bits, but a great laxative if you don't take the warning seriously

I am sure I chucked that into the river last year Echuca way.....
Actually Coopers have their own spring - one used to be able to fill containers beside the road there on the way to Port Adelaide

Way back in the 80's when Adelaide used to have a Grand Prix, before the Vic's nicked it we went over to watch the cars go round and round. We went to the Stag pub up the top end of the track and watched some of the practice sessions from the balcony of the pub. A bloke showed us the 'proper' way to drink Coopers. With a spoon. He got the stubbie and a mug and drank the top bit then poured it into the mug and started drinking it like soup.
Every time I see the Coopers logo I think of that weekend. Great racing, crap beer.
And the water hasn't gotten any better either.
