It's been a while since there was a discussion about the various "inverter fridges" and what is recommended, or not!
I notice on Whirlpool that many advise against the Panasonic one because of the noise it emits.
One that was recommended some time ago was the Samsung SR227MW (228L). I notice that it is becoming scarce so maybe it's not being made any more?
I'm looking at a fridge with a VERY low power usage over time.
I'd prefer a bigger one but up goes the power requirement....
Any advice welcome....

Re: inverter fridges
I'm going with the Samsung 255L. 269kW which is better than the smaller 228L model. Go figure.
The door shelf design on the 255L is a lot more useable as well.
I also asked three separate caravan users via PM about the noise level on the 255L and all said it was quiet.
Considered the LG but the silly fixed full length egg shelf killed it, as well as the higher price.
I compared all 3 fridges in the flesh side by side at HN.
Nothing else with inverter tech under 300L.
Also read the Panasonic was noisy.
This thread might have some bits of relevant info.

Re: inverter fridges
Well in the middle of a heatwave I thought I'd found out why the absorption fridge was having troubles doing it's job by installing some fans to blow past the back of the unit.
Yesterday the old problem returned in the heat. Temp correct in freezer but almost luke warm in the fridge section. (10-15 degrees or more)
Looked up Harvey Norman & the Samsung 255l was $599 from memory.

Appliances online were $533 & free delivery.

Hooked up the trailer & headed over to Mount Barker HN store. Told the salesman about the price diff which he immediately checked online & price matched.
Dunno why I waited so long........ marvelous! Just need to chop the bottom off the overhead cupboard a bit! lol.
John have you removed the icemaking facility? Seems you'd need to fabricate a full width shelf to do it.... or remove the half shelf?

Re: inverter fridges
I took the ice maker out of our new fridge Bruce , it took up to much space plus we don't use ice for anything .

Bernie, In Vietnam, they put ice in the bear to cool it down.
Maybe you could use it for that.

Re: inverter fridges
How do you mount the household fridge in the cavity when there are no brackets?
Re: inverter fridges
I had advice from George Jon , where the rear wheels (on mine) are I put a board across just in front of wheels and at the front I put a board down with holes matching the front legs for them to sit in , then across the top a board (in my case a aluminium bracket) mounted to either side , so fridge cant come up . If that's understandable ?
