Yes Shirley, that is our intention. We might upgrade to a bit bigger one later on but we'll worry about that later on.
Probably easier to get a bigger one than to extend ours as it's an inboard diesel & not outboards.
We'll see ..........

Bernie did you know that Wendy finally got up there?
Was pretty dark on New Year's Eve and all the party goers were either up there or going to go up there to watch the fireworks.
Next thing I knew she was up there!
Thought the fireman's lift was going to be on the cards (by Brian... Homeless) but nope, down she came!
She is OK when she can't see anything!
I've since bought 3 blindfolds but they're being (over)used in the Bedroom ........... (not saying by who!!)

Would have thought an inboard diesel motor would of been better than outboards, doesn't seem to be many houseboats on Lake Macquarie.

Hi Shirley... yes I like the diesel but it's harder to shift. If I add another 15ft onto the boat I need to either extend the front or the back.
Back is more sensible but then the inboard diesel in it's pod below water line has to be shifted back with all it's controls & wiring. Big job.
Maybe cut in half & add 20ft in there? Wendy is going to kill me ........... lol
Maybe Lake Macquarie get's a bit too rough for comfortable houseboating? I've never been there. Is it sea water or fresh? Name of 'lake' seems to indicate it's fresh water.

Bruce, Lake Mac is saline, water comes from the ocean through Swansea channel. Instead of moving the motor, can't you just add a few big feet onto each side? Would the boat fit in any river then?

Shirley, we have a couple of house boats moored in our bay, very old and decrepit, have rarely seen them leave their moorings.
