Has anyone had success in keeping down the "ticking" noise from the pump? Trial ran mine (9.1kw) yesterday and found the pumping too noisy for my liking. Will be rubber mounting it for a start but I expect some sort of insulation or wrap as well?
EDIT- I have found articles mentioning insulating the fuel pipes from the chassis helps. I am already running exhaust muffler.

Also -for those with the real ebersp??**cher units, is there an option to run them primarily from a thermostat? Mine is electronic timer / button start only........

Make ticking your friend. The ticking slows down when it's up to speed. Unless it's under the bed it probably won't annoy you at all.

We have a 2kw diesel heater in the Coaster warms it up beautiful in no time, it's great.

Yes, ours has a digital thermostat controller. The heater on Wilbor (one) had a mini controller with a dial thermostat. Both work just fine

I wrapped the pump in a piece of that aircon insulating rubber stuff they sell at the hardware which makes it barely audible. I also wrapped all the exposed fuel lines underneath the truck to stop the diesel going gluggy on very cold mornings.

Thanks Rob, I might source a thermostat controller spare from somewhere and see if they play together, only 4 wires, what could possibly go wrong?
Shirley I have enjoyed the 2kw air heater units in mates van, cozy as you say. Mine is destined to heat the hot water storage via a heat exchanger and some fan assisted radiator heaters in the living area's.
I have made up a low frequency mount for the pump using some old silicone hose (pic coming) which may help

We have a 240v 45lt HWS like this one but don't have the engine coolant running through it. Which meant heating it up using solar and the inverter, heating it while driving via the alternator and inverter OR run the generator while parked up. Or have cold water. Soooo, I fitted a Webasto diesel water heater (as apposed to an air heater) that runs through the Isotemp HWS. Works a treat, heats to 75 C and is too hot to touch in about 12 minutes. These water heaters can be used for cabin heating using radiators or the vehicles front cab heating outlets and fan by running it through the engine cooling system. Bonus is a preheated engine

The only thing I should have done is bought the Eberspacher unit NOT the Webasto. Webasto's after sales support is dismal
