Rant of day.. last night I tried to order from Kogan, all went ok till the part that said "ring the # on the back of your credit card for verification of the amount charged" Seeing as there is no # on my card and I do not do internet banking and do not have a pay pal acc I now have to go to the bank to get the verification. WTF, come on Kogan you can do better than that. I did get on their chat thingy and the person said it was due to "unauthorised" orders, not my problem Kogan   end of rant
Just had a ph call from Jenny aka Aussiegirl saying she and Mike will be popping in this arvo and are bringing a cake ;) will be good to catch up again and to hear how the reno of Old #7 is progressing (or not)

Should have given me a ring Dot so you could get the Friday special price.
How much has it gone up now for Sat?
You really do need to catch up to the modern way.
Only bill I still USED to get was the Council rates.
Guess what? No more council rates now .. Naa Naa !!!

Same price today Dot ... want me get it for you? Oooops! ... no free shipping now though.

Sunday, had an appointment at Specsavers in Mt Barker at 1240hrs. Got there on time and walked out of their doors at 1400hrs. All I had to do was get measured ?? for my new reading glasses. I wanted to use my present frames but Oh no that would be dearer than if I got 2 pr for $199. Then the sale pitch was on for sun glasses (no thanks they were not the cancer council ones) then came the sell for darkening lenses, what for I don't need that for reading? but "yes you do for using computer" Then it got too much for me and I said. " all I want is plain old reading glasses please" then it was "if you get 2 pr for $199 your health benefit will cover it all" OK do it so I picked out 2 pr off their display then it was time for another "fitting" while he was doing that the sell for extras continued so once again I told him about what I wanted , that seemed to get through and I was given a time to come back for them and a fitting. What an ordeal.. BTW OPSM are now a Chinese company. Then we checked out Aldi, came home with some bits and pieces and some meat to give them a try. end of rant.

Said " Chinese company" will still be so over priced that most ordinary people will still have to go to specsavers, or not have new glasses at all.

Did you know that everytime you get specs you actually get a prescription just like for medicine?
Did you know that once you get the prescription you can demand it from Sexsavers (etc) and just walk out with it?
Did you know that you can then use that script to buy your glasses online?
My sister has done it several times without any trouble.

This is an ad! I might make $5 million from it! (joking!)

How come these people don't make themselves known? I understand that it costs to advertise but even a letter box drop might get to some that need glasses at a good price. My glasses cost me O apart from the extras cover of the health fund but if I had of been swayed by their sales pitches it would have cost me extra. Thanks for that Bruce, will keep this place in mind for when G needs to update.

Think buying glasses online might be ok for single vision lens but when you start wanting graduated lens or bifocal could be a problem but having said that they are certainly heaps cheaper.

Hi everyone
Today i seen the true meaning to the grass is greener on the other side of the fence.
Does not sound much but it made me smile A small pony was up against a fence stretching as far out as possiable and
Trying with great effect to eat dead grass .It was like a child not quite being able to reach an ice cream.
Tonight we are outside of Wagga Wagga on our way to Dots ;)
Tace Care Helen the boring one
