Were off, at bloody last.

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Were off, at bloody last.

Post by Kelvin12 »

Well finally after 2 false starts we are on the beaten track, heading south in the winter. Well you might ask why.... silly promises to she who is the boss !!! well in her own lunch time. First day after a test run, change of filters after thinking crap in the tank. Went like a rocket. Departure 1... couldn't pull the skin of a rice pudding. Back to friends property. Really disappointed. Check everything out, all good by the looks of it. So departure 2, couple kilometers down the road... no power again. Really pissed off this time.... tow truck to Detroit at Chipping Norton. Great tow operators and the Nicest people, (Retriever if you need a fair rate and good service). Detroit Diesel blokes are great, made a few good friends here as well and extremely obliging. Find the problem that I completely and totally missed , incorrect fuel line connections. Probably done by previous owners draining tank or something god knows why. Anyhow, departure 3, good stuff going great but weather is miserable, torrential rain, not that its not needed desperately but PIA to drive through and cold as hell. At least the bride is happy as she loves the cold... I hate it and just want to hibernate.

First stop, Goulburn at a caravan park. Cold, actually beyond cold its freezing. Even the brass monkeys are in short supply. Next stop Gunning our first free camp. Really nice place but very popular. Onto Yass, great park, spotless and friendly. Good Big Rig stop. Heading out tomorrow to Jugiong another free camp, donation in the tin. Looks good with huge area for Big Rigs a plenty.

At least the weather has warmed up a bit but guess its a temporary measure. Still loving this life on the road at this stage.....

Heading generally south to the Murray River after Albury.

We might have caught up some where but the truck man can't get the brake air proportioning valve till Monday so Monday evening leave at the best, I'm guessing you will be past the Wagga turn off by then.... so see you in Mannum?

I can second Dirk's assessment of Jugiong!
Stopped there en route to & from Canberra on recent lightning trip there (cousin in residence, and saw the new WWI exhibit at the AWM: Cousin was well, and the AWM brilliant!).
We travelled with Jim the Junior Jeep in tow (see avatar): 13.5m. Plenty of room at Jugiong for us.
Jugiong would make a great Gathering Place, and it's OK for us to reach in a day.
Regards & God bless,

Hi Dirk, I think I met and spoke to you at Gunning, when you were complaining about the cold. Your wife told you to toughen up. I have the yellow Bedford.
