Our first night of this trip and we are at Calliope River free camp. Heading west towards Emerald today with our original plan being to travel via Longreach. However the road between Barcaldine and Longreach is closed due to water over the road. We may have to head north to Charters Towers then west. Will check at Emerald Info Centre when we get there.
Anyone who is interested can follow our trip at

Lesley,
Queensland certainly is a land of contrasts.
The river at Calliope looks pretty low; and you can't get to Longreach because of water over the road!
Regards & God bless,
Ray

Apparently the road to Longreach is now open, Ray. It was just surface water from rain over the last couple of days.
Cheers

Lesley may I ask what cruise you are going on? Departure date?
I have a friend going on one which I think leaves from Perth.

OK Lesley. Sounds good!
My friend is on this one ....
"""5th July we will go on a 26 day cruise around SE Asia on the Dawn Princess"""
As you're leaving on the cruise think about me laying on the couch at the hospital about to be intruded upon!!!
