Hi, all.
R.I.P.for my fourth Projecta inverter. While waiting for a call back from Projecta, I'm seriously considering a different make. Any recommendations? Has to be 600w.

Hi, all.
Mrcoolabah1au
Just the twin tub, small power drill and angle grinder, and of course the iMac 21.5. Used to do it OK with the 300w Projecta, but I've got used to the 600w units they kept giving me.

Hi, all.
Mrcoolabah1au - nice thought and how many lamingtons would the postage cost?
The Inverter Shop has an 8ZED 600w pure sine wave inverter for $194. Looks good in the ad, at least. Mind you, I'm still waiting on Projecta's reply.

Re: Inverter giving grief
What sort of power drill and angle grinder can you run on a 600w inverter? Most pull 1,000w under load and the washing machine might pull a fair load on start up if it has induction motors, is it one that turns one direction for a few mins, then the other way? Each start up is full load, might be what's killing a well respected brand inverter, an other may well have refused to work from the very beginning.shonky wrote:Hi, all.

Hi, all.
BruceS - 12v. The bus is only 7 meters long.
T1Terry - the grinder is 850w, but settles down to 450w almost immediately, the power drill is 280w, and the twin tub uses 150w washing and 80w spinning.
I've met others with similar problems, and do recall one ( inverter)that died after two days.Having said that,Projecta are calling me tomorrow with some good news. Watch this space.

Re: Inverter giving grief
Hi, all.
So the most recent inverter is having epileptic fits, and considering that it arrived in a slightly torn box appeared suspicious. No way would Projecta repair damaged inverters, after replacing them, and send them out as new. No way. Perchance I may have received the same inverter two or three times.Perish the thought. Anyway I'm purchasing an 8ZED inverter from WallCan, and will keep you posted if it causes grief.
