Re: inverter air con
Are you going to get one? If you are can you please let us know if it is as good as they seem to make out it is, anything would be better than the standard Dometic roof top rattler but is it as good as a household split system type inverter air con?

Re: inverter air con
Neil & Lynne Fyffe had a 2.5kW Fujitsu installed in Adelaide, took them a full day to fit it but they seem very happy with the end result. My sparkie contact here in Mannum is also an air con installer so I might run it past him regarding interest in installing these systems in RV's and a cost to see if it would be cost competitive. Maybe Neil & Lynne might see this post and tell us more about their new install.

Just as an update, went to go pay for one of these this morning, and organise freight.... bloke at George Days fobbed me off cause the woman who knows everything wasn't there... they are prepared to price match, and there will be an introductory special. Will do our own if need be.. getting the 240 into it will be the only major issue, other than getting it on the roof of course. guess it depends on how the plugs are set up.

My 3.2kw Inverter split system was bought from Aldi nearly twelve months ago, installed by licensed installer for $50, been nearly bashed to death since then, runs all day from solar. One of the best decisions I've made. Still 4 years of in home warranty left on the install.

Re: inverter air con
are you sure the plumbing is too much, Martin? Could you describe the difficult part on your install?

Re: inverter air con
I have a swagman. 36 feet, two roof mounts. The only place the outside unit can fit is up in front of the drivers side front wheel. From there back to the first unit is approx 8m of run, it could be fed up inside, but will lower the ceiling height on the inside or will need to exit on top of the roof to go into the ceiling cassette from there, to the rear unit is approx 7m, so up to 13m to the outside unit. Getting it all tidied up will be a major excercise, not to mention waterproof. there is nowhere inside to logically mount indoor units.
Hopefully you see my dilemma!
