Anything special I need to know when applying VAST

Post by Busman »

Hi all, taken the VAST plunge at a caravan park in Rubyvale at the minute that has filled up with people in small caravans complaining about our size.
Want us to leave so I told them they would all have to move out to give us room to manouvre, that shut em up !

No TV here so have bought the dish and all the bits.
Is there anything special I need to know when filling in the application, re the permanent addy, or travelling, whatever, if so please let me know.

GO our Olympic teams.

Do you have the card with all the bits William ?
If so just write the card number down then ring them and they will activate the card , the card has to be In the vast box when you get in touch with them that's why I said to write the number down .

I found doing it online was just as easy & then you always have the return email with the link in it to re-activate it.
Make sure you fill in the "nomad" one!!!
Travellers .... http://www.mysattv.com.au/travellers.aspx
To reactive ... http://www.mysattv.com.au/Cert_Renewal.aspx
As Bernie said ....... make sure you have found the satellite & can view ABC/SBS or Ch 800. 800 has some 'interesting' info for you!

As Bruce said make sure you have ch 800... click on travelers 6 month one , fill in the questions it can take up to 48 hrs to get connected but usually only 1 or2 , leave the box in standby. On line is easiest.

When I did mine many moons ago the seller told me to take a drive around town and find an address where there was no house and record it and bring it back to him.
That was the address my dish was registered to so I did not have to do the 6 monthly update.
I also had all the other states so not sure how he did it.
I have had two setups and dumped both as I never used them except for a specific purpose. Last one was when I did three month up north in SA and I though it would be nice to watch the news but did not get the time so when I returned to civilisation it was dumped.

Nope, couldn't find the signal finder so had to get another
By the time I tried yesterday arvo there was heavy cloud and rain, kept flicking from 0 to 30% on the TV so gave it away and will try again tonight when we get back

You will need to get 50% or better single quality, make sure the Pole the dish mount's on is straight up and down ( I use a bricky's level ) makes it a lot easier.
