Just bought a new 64bit asus computer which came with win10, can anyone tell me how you get to the boot sequence to change the boot settings. Won't say what I really think of win 10, just want to get rid of it as quickly as possible after seeing how cumbersome, empty and slow it is..

It depends on make/model.
On my Toshiba it's ....
F12 on bootup. (I believe F2 on ASUS?)
Scroll down to SETUP.
Go to second 'tab' & turn off SECURE BOOT.
Go to BOOT tab & change to USB or whatever. (I boot into my Linux (Navigatrix actually) on USB stick)
Go to (not sure from memory) one tab before BOOT & scroll to bottom option.
Scroll down to UEFI & change it to the "other" option.
On some laptops you'll need to take out the HD but on mine I can leave it in & I can use it as a storage device from within Linux.

Thanks Bruce, the bios in this asus is different to my other asus laptop and what you posted, no setup and not much info. There was no disable windows secure boot, but was able to crash the win boot completely and it reverted to the first operating drive, a usb as the main boot devise, but don't know how I did it. It's now running mint 18 64bit, couldn't get any 32 bit to load, there was no graphics. It's upgrading now and looking forward to seeing how KX studio 64 bit goes on it as it has more features and this asus has a Radeon R5 M320 2GB VRAM graphics card, which should make graphic compilation so much easier.
Spent 3 days checking out win 10, seeing what free software was available, as win constantly demanded I register and update, even tried to force the updates. When I switched it off still connected to the net, it switched back on and started to download. That's when I gave up and decided to install mint, Ubuntu studio and KX studio. They are state of the art, free and from win you get nothing but trouble.
Mint has installed and downloaded 387m of updates, entire process took 13 minutes, now will install the others and enjoy the return to freedom. Thanks again
