Well, she not looking like such a pussy anymore.

Chuck, not sure if you can see the spare wheel attachment in the middle of the roof rack. Can be moved anywhere on the roof rack. Also have the UHFdisplay installed above the ashtray and the iPhone cradle on the passenger side of the centre console. Still waiting on the recovery points to be installed as those ordered were subject to a recall from the manufacturer yesterday. Because the vehicle wasn't ready yesterday as promised due to problems with another vehicle, they threw in a snatch strap and carry bag. Very happy with the service and price from Opposite Lock at Rothwell, Brisbane.

With all those bits added you will be able proudly drive through the city now Who gets the job of climbing the ladder with the spare tyre strapped to their back?
Where was the spare tyre before?
I'm guessing these mos are for the off road/inland roads trip planned, will the added weight on the roof change the handling much?

Terry, the spare wheel holder is for a second spare. The first is under the vehicle. We have two spares on the back of the van but they are not the same size as those on the LC. Yes, getting it on the roof rack will be a challenge! As you correctly surmise, this is preparation for our trip across the Outback Way in June. We need to make sure that we have all bases covered so we are not holding up others in our group. Once we have that trip under our belt, we plan to do a lot more dirt road travelling.

I'm sure you will work out a method within the group for dragging the spare tyre up and down from the roof rack when needed, maybe one of those flip over arm affairs they use for roof loading a wheel car could be adapted?

Admin, black would not have been our preferred choice. And it's a PITA on the road as it gets filthy but it's what we could find at the time. Would have preferred a 100 series with a low mileage and all the bits. But that seems to be an oxymoron. Anyway, we are gradually getting her up to speed. Hopefully we won't embarass ourselves!
