For some years, Caravaners Forum has sought to be free of the advertising that dominates other websites in accordance with our Mission Statement that is the basis of Caravaners Forum Terms of Use.
Caravaners Forum - Mission Statement
Caravaners Forum will be an internet forum where members discuss and seek information from other members in relation to caravanning and like topics in a family friendly environment. We will do this on a site that is largely free from advertising and in a manner that is suitable for General viewing. Some months ago, the Admin Team became concerned that some members were using Caravaners Forum to advertise in breach of Terms of Use and amended Terms of Use requiring members with a 'commercial interest' to declare that interest in their Signature so that other members reading their posts would be aware that such posts may reflect that commercial interest.
Unfortunately, a small number of members have sought to promote their business by the inclusion of blatant advertising in their Signature however, the Admin Team are determined that this practice will not be tolerated and accordingly the relevant clause in Terms of Use has been amended as follows:
15.3.1 All members with a commercial interest in a company or product that is generally sold or advertised to caravanners MUST include in their Signature, a disclosure statement of that interest using not more than three (3) words that clearly indicates to other members, the subject of that commercial interest. Examples of permitted disclosure are: "Caravan Dealer"; "Caravan Battery Retailer"; "Caravan Park Owner"; "Spare Parts Supplier". Any other form of advertising, including company names, is not permitted and may be removed by Admin.
This change to Terms of Use is effective immediately and is now binding on all members. Admin may amend the Signature of those few members where necessary to avoid them breaching Terms of Use.
This could be interesting, as I'm banned I can't change my signature line, how as they going to put my connection with Margaret's business in 3 words without mentioning T1 Lithium...... if they say I'm a battery reseller they will land themselves in very hot water as I only work for the business, I don't own it. It's a pack of bloated egos trying to cover their stuff ups by making even bigger stuff ups. If they hadn't started this whole commercial interest nonsense they wouldn't have started digging the hole they now find themselves in, now they keep digging deeper. I bet there are some ex redmen that are glad they got out while the going was good, many a good forum has crashed on the rocks as a result of poor judgement by the steering committee. I think a number of the members here have been members of forums that crashed and burnt due to poor redmen calls
