Arrived in Bundaberg with a couple of jobs to do...
1. Initially it was to find out why the van suspension was creating a squeaking - no, more like a - screeching noise when traversing uneven ground. However, the noise has not been heard for the previous 2 days... so scratch that one.
2. Three days ago the bloody fuel warning light came on - last time was half way between Port Augusta & The Alice. Since then an additional filter installed before the standard one, with a fuel bowl to view if any water present, had been fitted. So far it was easy sailing.
Now, with this 2nd warning light on it was time to visit Mr Toyota.
Wow, what a fantastic setup the Bundy Toyota man has, very modern & spacious. Pulled up in front, at around 10:15 taking up 5 parking spaces on the road, with a 2hour time limit, wandered in to the service counter & had a chat with a nice young lady & explained the situation. She then had a word with the workshop boss man who said they could look at it but we would need to leave the car with them for most of the day.
Hmm, that could be a problem, "most of the day" with the van parked in a 2 hour parking area on the side of the road taking up around 3 parking spaces. Not really too obvious for Mr Parking Inspector!
OK. Decision made, leave the car there & we will sit in the van with computer & E-books to await Mr Parking Inspector with a sad tale about breaking down etc.
Did that for about 40 mins till it got too bloody hot, so abandoned ship & re-entered the air conditioned comfort of Mr Toyota's waiting area where tea, coffee etc was available along with biscuits, slices & cakes. Thanks Mr T.
It was a long day... suffice to say that we were finally back on the road at 4:30.
We appreciated Mr T fitting us into an already fully booked workshop & the coffee/cakes 'n' stuff were most enjoyable & Mr Parking Inspector managed to stay away.
The Toyota fuel filter was apparently full of crap but no evidence of water was present, so if that one was affected why not the pre filter as well. No evidence of water in the bowl, drained just in case, so now will probably do a change of that filter as well.
Justin....
Decided we need a few days off, so currently relaxing in a nice van park at Oakwood about 6 klm along the Gin Gin road. Lot of permanents & all tourist sights are full as well but we have a nice grassy spot set aside for big rigs.
Naturally you would get service in Bundy. The van park which reopened right beside the river on the nth side of the bridge apparently is very good. We are going there for a week instead of making use of friends/relatives next month. You could do a round trip over a couple of hours out to McLellan's farm! If you want a wonderful Chinese meal the one at the Natives club over east is the place to go. If you want to get some fresh fish go to Grunske's over east & they have a great restaurant as well- on the river. We back at Bedford to-morrow for water to wash etc etc for a few days. We are here at Lilyvale waterholes totally by ourselves. It is halfway in between Emerald & Capella & east a few ks.
What happened about the noises under the van?
Arrived in Biloela this arvo dripping in sweat, went to the info centre at the Heritage Park and decided to stay at the newly opened 48hr rest area for a couple of nights. Powered site $15 pr night & $10 pn for unpowered site, clean and well supplied amenities as well as being able to roam around the grounds free to check out the stuff in the heritage park. At the info area, the dump point here is not the best for position as it partially blocks the exit so a big black tank full could be a bit of a stinker for traffic waiting to get out?? Potable water available but you need a very long hose to connect to the taps (roughly 6-7 mts) If in the 48hr rest area the sites are big and water is at every site. No grey water disposal area but they do provide buckets for the vans with no holding tanks. The ground is just new compacted sand. Tonight we had a good
drop of rain, first we have seen in weeks going to be 29 deg tomorrow so I guess it will be extra muggy so Brian will have the air con on while we go looking around the place..
Queen of the Banal & OT chatter and proud of it. If it offends you then tough titty titty bang bang.
I don't need the aircon on Dot. In downtown Mannum as they call it I renigged and wore some UGG BOOTS for a couple of hours the other day as the concrete was that cold and standing on it all day the feet were starting to ache. Must be getting old.
Thought I would get in first before found the opportune time to let it out LOL.
12 × 5 house boat moored at the present in Mannum Waters Marina.
Converting to LiFePo4 for float alone status
haha..... Brian (Homeless) you need to know that Dot has her cat (Brian) with her in the motorhome!!
Now THAT Brian would need the air conditioner on!! Fat sod!

One down, just a few more to go.... Good onyu Brian for telling us that you have actually have a foot weakness. Do those UGG boots have Velcro accessory points?
One bad point about this Rest area is they have no grey water dump outlets near the sites so we have to empty our tank into buckets (provided) and cart the water over to the grassed area.
