The system still won't run with the power lines down. Yes it is in the dark ages in SA, but crap infrastructure is the case, not renewable energy. The grid let the system down, nothing else, when the grid failed the links interstate shut down as did all forms of power generation connected to the grid. If we were so backward we relied on coal fired power stations to keep the lights on then we would have something to worry about, but even when there were all the coal fired power stations running SA still had a lot of black outs, so what was blamed then?
At least you are back home in one piece Ray, you might have been in Mannum suffering the fall out from an extended winery tour, that might have been more hazardous to your health than a bit of wind and rain
