Luckily I live one street back from the local Community Centre where the uke group practise. The ukulele bit is OK - their singing is terrible!

Tuning is quick and simple with a $5 tuner from eBay.
They really are an easy instrument to play with only 3 chords needed to play great music.
Knowing the C, G and F chords will get you started, after that a good sense of timing and rythm of the particular tune will get you on stage.

You were going so well on the sales pitch until the second and third line No sense of rhythm or timing so the only stage they'd put me is the next one headed out of town... or that one with the funny looking neck tie and the floor that opens at the most inconvenient time for the person who decided to try the neck tie on for size

We were parked at the Dam Fine Rally last year and our friends in the MH beside us had a few ukers over for a practice session, I put noisey on for a while. Noisey is our air cooled diesel generator

Peter, are they lessons at the rallies or just a strumming/jam session.
Either can be fun but Jams are top of the list providing you have a bit of experience and know when to play and when to just sit and listen/learn.

We both do a 4hr lesson/jam session at Yinnar each month as well as 2hrs every second Sunday up at Kallista. Keeps us a bit busy

Yep, can't see us selling that one, it's been damn good to us.
We took it up to Mt Dare the year before last and it was a great trip................apart from having both mudguards fall off, spring hanger brake and the tailgate hinges snapped, but yeah it was a great trip.
For anyone calling into Mount Dutton rail siding, you're welcome to use the mudguards as a wind break for your fire. We did that and left them there for the next nights visitor.
