Aren't We Ever So PC!

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

As the saying goes, If you know what is in the show ie the naughty Chef and his F bombs then don't watch it. A lot of the time it is the way the words are spoken = jest or abusive (personal attack) I remember when I was working in a textile factory in Broadmeadows, I was 14 yrs old and told a foreign lady that I liked the crease in her pants! big mistake,,, in her country a "crease" means the naughty C word. The more we abide by the stupidity of the PC twats the more precious we shall become. I say what I want when I want and bugger the PC'ers, hope we don't have a black out, and we didn't have a white Xmas either :) :) :) :) :)

On the language thing, I have on the odd occasion been known to drop the F word and I have been castihgated more than once for doing so.
  We went to OH WHAT A NIGHT! - A Musical Tribute to Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons a coupla year ago and even I was staggered at the language used.
Yeah, OK, it may have been used amongst the group in real life but there was no reason to blow it up and glorify it as much.
Several did leave the theatre well before interval.

Bet there is not one comedian around that doesn't use naughty words in their stage shows. I get het up when small kids use the naughty words in public eg supermarkets or walking down the street and also parents using those words when speaking to the kids.

Dropping the bomb once or twice doesn't bother me greatly, but when it happens every 10mins or so as it did in the show it's totally over the top. It was not necessary for the story line, it was done for shock factor and that it achieved. Anyone who asked about the show after was told the whole truth.
If there was a warning in the advertising material you would have a choice.
I certainly didn't expect it and neither did the ppl I was with, 2 blokes, 4 women.

I also find people such as John Travolta, Tom Cruise and other high profile people that are so called "religious" even they have no worries dropping bombs in their movies so the Q I have is, Is it the $$$$$ or are they not really so goody two shoes"? Not knocking religion just used as example :)

We walked out of a Jimoein show when, after a warm-up 'comedian' who thought dropping the F-bomb was humour, the man himself started the show with a tale using both the F- and C- bombs!
I wrote to the man's manager, expressing our anger, as he can do an entire series of TV shows without using either word, and that our next-door neighbours came along... with their 10-y-o daughter!
I pointed out that there was no warning in the advertising that coarse language would be used, and demanded a refund for the five of us.
A cheque arrived within the week!

Ray, I seek your advice. Note the time of your post -12 midnight. Was this the last post for 2016 or the first post for 2017?

I complained to a TV network about the constant language in their new cop show. Yes, there was a warning...but in every sentence?? I was informed that because it's used in society, then they felt that it was okay to have in a TV show. I was reminded recently that the movie that has made the most box office money (taking into account inflation) is "Gone with the wind" (1939) and there was no language in that (except 'damned'). I suppose that in general society even then language was used - but not in the movies. There have been some good films in the past decade that have had to use the 'f' word at least once - perhaps to get an M rating instead of PG? Then again, some of the things that are said in PG are not what most parents would want their children to hear.

Yes, Steve, it was posted at 1100hrs AEDST. Had another 13 hours to go before 'Whoopee Time".. :D

Getting back to the subject of the OP...
Friends visited the US.
Went to a 'Diner' (cafe to us) and she ordered just what she drinks at home: "I'll have a black coffee thanks."
Waitress stares at her.
"I beg your pardon, ma'm. What would you like to drink?"
"A black coffee, thanks."
Silence - and stares from adjacent tables.
"You know. A plain... black... coffee..."
"We don't serve what you've ordered Ma'm. I'll bring you a 'coffee without milk'..."
 PC to the point of idiocy!
"Black" in this case has nothing to do with anyone's skin colour. It is simply an adjective, not an insult.
Would they consider ordering a "White tea with one sugar" a racist slur?
