Locals always give directions as if you know where your going I see Chumpa has 50 years up pulling beer at the Peel inn . I used to go shooting with him before were old enough to drink in his Dad's Pub.

I have some land at Duncans Creek Rd, Woolomin, just a stones throw from you. I lived there from 1975 until 1989.

As the Irish man said, "About 10 miles down this road there's a hotel. Turn left 2 miles before that."

Good on you Pelbo, you really are living the dream.
That is precisely our plans after retirement and the 'big touring' has wound down.

Re: To live the dream...and to keep on dreaming...
I have done something similar but my new home is a house boat.
Still doing the conversion to 240v and Lithium batteries but wont be long now (will it Terry ?????).
Hopefully will have a full 240v boat with aircon etc to utilise the spare solar, 2000w of solar to power the boat so should have plenty of power to spare LOL
Still have a bit of work to renovate the Kitchen / wheelhouse with new pull out pantry and floor as well as some shelf=ves etc then hopefully of on a trip with a group of house boats from Mannum to Moorook taking 10 days and then see what happens.
Not sure if I could settle back into a box on land.

Re: To live the dream...and to keep on dreaming...
Peter,
Great to see you happy as a hog in... well, you know.
We moved to Rutherglen for much the same reason.
Three years OTR, and when we returned home (we didn't sell prior to the trip), threw up our hands in horror at how the western fringe of Melb had changed.
Rude, impatient drivers. Same with shoppers.
I used a walking stick at the time. In our local Plaza not long after returning, walking along the shopfronts people bumped into me - no apology. One mother snatched a child from my path with, "Don't bump into the man. You'll hurt yourself!"
Rutherglen has welcomed us. About 2500 people.
People stop us & chat in the street.
Postmaster chats every time we pop in about his dream to get a m/h & do the BIG LAP.
Local groups asked us to join, and with 26 wineries in the area, we've always got somewhere to go on a quiet day.
Friends from Melb pop in for an overnighter (or two) en route to Sydney or wherever...
And we've still got Girt & Jim the Junior Jeep (toad) ... and a few reliable house-sitters on hand.
