What, as in barely Holden together? Or Heaps Of Loud Destructive Engine Noises.... Kingswood country, where on a quiet day you can hear the Holdens rusting

Don't want anyone to think that I am biased or anything but the poor dog obviously hasn't heard of Fix Or Repair Daily, or Found On Rubbissh Dump.
The whole thing is rhetorical anyway. There won't be any BIG Bangers soon, doesn't matter who you support. Maybe turbo V6's or some Hiroshima Screamer buzzing past. Just something else that progress has stuffed. Even Harleys don't sound the same anymore.

Remember in the 1980s (?) when the ARDC split the Oz Big Bangers from the little'uns & tried Euro Championship at Bathurst?
Sounded like a bunch of turbocharged sewing machines with hernias!
First year the crowd was "down on our expectations", then second year they had to pull the plug a week before the event 'cause people were staying away in droves. Ticket sales were described in the press as "abysmal". (We still haven't got our October long weekend back! )
Looks like the screamers might be the only choice soon.

The big bangers will be always Keith Black engines running on Nitro, but battery/electric will soon be the race power of choice, the instant off the mark torque and regen braking will change the whole race scene the same way as turbo chargers did early on..... who would have thought a 1500cc Honda engine could make a 3000cc engine look so shabby in the F1 class, but rather than banning the electric power plant they embraced it with a formula all of its own. Once battery technology catches up and the car can do a full race on the one battery pack with a fast charge while the tyres are changed they might even compete together, then maybe a similar thing to street drags when the electric vehicles hit the scene.
