From a story in the Wanderer,
http://gasbottlerefills.com/

Could be useful, we fill ours from 40 kg ones on the farm but we will add this site to our info just in case. Only use gas for BBQ now, rest is all electric

Bill do you have to have a "special" connector to transfer from one bottle to the other?

Yep can buy them off ebay, comes with a small connector to do the tiny bottles for soldering etc as well

You stand the big one upside down, connect the little one and away you go, can only go until the pressure equalises so usually empty to about 1/3 rd I think, dunno I usually get my people to do it !

Checked that site Bill, apparently none of the refillers or swap mobs in Mannum qualify for an entry, but the difference in prices in Murray Bridge was quite surprising, from a 9kg refill at Mitre 10 for $30 down to a refill 10 yrds up the road for $20, Mitre 10 in Tailem Bend is $32 for 9kg refill but 100 yrds away at the Coles Express an 8.5kg swap is $25... but a Mitre 10 9kg refill in Strathalbyn is only $20, Mt Barker the prices are at least close to each other at around the $22 mark for a refill. When you consider the 18ltrs of Propane for a 9kg refill would be around the $18 mark if the have to pay excise on it there is a very big profit margin for some of the refillers.
