Lost my NBN Fixed mobile internet here yesterday (Thursday). Phoned Telstra....waited.....transferred to NBN mobile...waited....transferred to NBN....waited....Yes it is down in your area and won't be back on until Saturday night after 7PM.
"Well, my mobile phone is working and I will need to replace your faulty service with my phone data link which is still working. However, I will need another 9 gig to replace what I would have used on your NBN. Can you give me an extra 9G on my phone data at no cost to replace what I now can't use on your service.?"
"Wait and I will talk to the supervisor."....wait.....wait.....wait......"OK... we will give you a credit of $7"
Me - Your'e kidding! A lousy $7 credit to offset the extra $90 Telstra, which is you, will charge me for the extra 9Gig?" "No - I want extra data, not a credit. Talk to your supervisor again."
Wait...and wait ....and wait...comes back and says OK. But I will have to phone accounts to organise the credit for the extra $90 for the data. I ask for a reference number I can quote accounts.
Took me over an hour to sort that out.
Five minutes later the NBN service starts again.....gotta be Murphy's law....

No - it would have been the extra $90 for the extra 9 gig if I had used it.
Keep in mind I have NBN fixed mobile - never get the green cable here!. So it uses the same mobile tower and system as my mobile.....but it costs NBn rates of 100G for about $70 a month - which is 70 cents per gig, yet the same data on my phone they charge $10 per gig......that is 1,400% mark up in my maths!

Re: NBN - Telstra
We use Mate NBN fixed wireless, $59 for 12/1 unlimited and been using amysim for our phones. Thinking of switching to mate 25/5, for $69, no contracts and really good fast service. Watching the womens footy, it's a bit jumpy on 12/1, so may switch, but otherwise really good. We use Jeenlee mobile for when on the road, $35 for 10g, unlimited calls and text, again no contracts.
