Free app!!

Post by shonky »

Hi, all.

Well almost free, WIKI CAMPS costs $2.99 and it shows, for example, all the free camps nearest your location on your Iphone or Ipad in hybrid form and can be used as a GPS. At under a cent a day it fits our budget quite well.
BTW our 4.5kg gas bottle has now been filled, at rather a good price until SWMBO wanted an icecream. All that economising gone to waste.
We don't seem to have travelled far, but our daily milage, sorry, kilometerage, is around 19km, which has to be good.

Is there an Android app for it as well or only for the fruity people?

Hi, all.

TI Terry - yes it caters for hyper-trendies with far too much disposable income.

Vic Fishing app or fish identification and the rules etc.

Got the wiki camps. doesn't seem to bad. Also have the DB meter. Fishing one not very good, does not list fish and chip shops

Have used WikiCamps quite a bit...find it useful when someone has put a review and photo on, so have done that wherever we have stopped.

Being currently on the Murray, houseboat sitting, with so many birds around, I bought the Michael Morcombe eguide app. Haven't regretted it.

Cheers

National Toilet Map is a good one for Fruit phones or Just in Time for Android. Great if you don't have a toilet with you.

We used a combination of Wikicamps and GeoWiki during our two week trip from Newcastle to The Great Ocean Road and return during the last 2 weeks. The only caravan park we stayed at was in Dunedoo at $30 for the 4 of us.
