Re: I'm really hip, now!

Achieving more movement in R leg. Still having probs putting weight on it, so wheely-walker will still be needed for a while. But I can lift leg into bed by itself & not have to rely on nurse lifting both ankles to maintain hip alignment. Getting about the ward OK now; took along-distance hike to the Nurses' Station... All of 20m round trip! ;D
Hoping to get Time Off For Good Behaviour tomorrow.
Now gunna bury myself in a good novel while listening to Best of The Shadows on iPhone!
Then it's tuck into bed & kiss goodnight from nursie. (Well, SWMBO is at home, 50km away...)

Regards & God bless,
Ray

Re: I'm really hip, now!
I's HOME!!!

Got Time Off For Good Behaviour. (Only coz the nurses could run faster.)
Tomorrow start Hospital In The Home with Community Nurse from The Other Colony. Apparently they ignore colonial borders. What a revolutionary idea! Saves having two nurses working 10km apart. Maybe the govts could do the same with rail gauges & rules for these new-fangled horseless buggies. But no. That would be going just TOO far!
Can't sit at pooter yet. Doing this from iPhone in bed.
Using grabber-stick to remove shoes & socks, as I can't yet bend far enough at either hip or knee. Give me time..........
Just caught up with news of global hacking attack on Windows pooters in banks, hospitals, businesses large & small.
I'm worried. Can anyone tell me if I'm running a vulnerable version of Windoze on my MacBook Pro?

Re: I'm really hip, now!
Ray I believe the 'hacking' was in fact the cryptolocker which can effect any computer .... even linux flavours.
Basically it's a small bug that is 'put' on your computer that encrypts EVERY personal, usable file on your computer.
eg, jpg, gif, doc, pdf, etc etc
It can not be undone or fixed except by paying the ransom demanded by bitcoins. (untraceable)
Now the simple little bit of software gets onto your computer by the user clicking on links in facebook, twitter, in emails and other self inflicted means.

Able to sit at pooter now (short sessions).

Just as Helen suggested:
- my folding easy chair,
- fluid of choice (Tea at this stage. Alcomohol is a no-no... medications!),
- quietude,
- a good book &
- my choice of music.
The only thing to beat that would be being somewhere On The Road with no particular destination in mind.

Here's me:
