For those full timers

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Sounds like a great life Native Pepper, I love southern Tassie.

Gary, where did you leave from and where did you head first? How old were you, had you retired or did/do you need to work on the road? How did you come to decide to sell up and do it and were you both as keen on the idea as each other?

All these questions and more :D

Only great if you are addicted to entertaining people and after my first gig at 31, was hooked. Owned and operated pubs and farms over the years as i tried to become a good citizen and get a real job, but doesn't take long before start looking for gigs. So sold the pubs over a decade ago, have been playing ever since and love every minute of it. It keeps me fit and healthy as we can't afford to get sick and not turn up, or do a bad job so our lifestyle and diet is very different to most.

Downsizing & 'Stuff' ?

Post by Lance »

This 'getting rid of stuff' also applies to downsizing, so any that have done that may jump in with some suggestions.
We're actually starting to get sorted to do exactly that and all these issues mentioned are coming to mind.

I considered buying a decent size block of land with a lot of storage space & letting others share the costs & space but I could see problems with the council etc.
It would have to be a registered storage place with all the required fire hydrants and fireproof walls between customers etc etc.
Other storage places would be watching you like a hawk to dob you in...........
It would be handy for MH's & caravans to have a place to do maintenance and services too?
Maybe we should start a "fundme" up ?? 8-)

Hi all,
As I said, we will never own a house again but we are lucky in that two brothers own a caravan park and the other one owns a remote store and a square mile of country so we could park up there and do repairs or sit down there if the SHTF for some reason.

In our case, I just can't see the point of storing stuff but am finding it hard to get my head around letting it go. Maybe when we actually get the bus and have to sort the house for settlement day it will be easier. :?

Everything, we do country, blues, pop and rock gigs, depends on what the venue and customers want. We prefer blues and jazz rock, currently we are introducing a lot more blues into our repertoire and music of not so well known but brilliant muso's.

Not on youtube, never had the time to put together a video and never without bookings, so haven't bothered. But we will have one on by the end of August, a couple of festivals we've been invited to play at have asked for a video, so those coming to the festivals can see who we are. It''s a change which has bee coming slowly and so we've been working out the format for a video and will begin recording it in August when we have a coup0le of weeks free.

Will let you know when we finalise the tour bookings as the festivals will fit in with those hopefully. Think we are doing SW Vic, bit of SA, up into NSW and Vic, which should be finalised by late July.

Hi Gary,
Which year model BT50? I am interested in your overall length when all coupled up.I have the Denning and an 09 Ranger supercab and have calculated that I will need to take the tow bar tongue out of the Ranger to stay under 19mtr length limit.
Did you make your own A Frame or buy one off the shelf?
Cheers, Alan
