Victorian Road Rule changes from July 1st

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Victorian Road Rule changes from July 1st

Post by Lance »

Some new road rules to affect Victorian drivers from July 1.

https://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/safety- ... road-rules

How do we know of road rule changes or additional rules if we don't check VicRoads web page regularly...... :?

Thanks for the heads-up.
I'll remember to leave my phone in my pocket next time I'm downtown with my wheely-walker! ;)

The one about a coach in the bus lane is interesting, still excludes caravans and 5érs but big motorhomes and converted buses????
A coach is defined as a motor vehicle used to convey passengers for hire or reward or in the course of trade or business which is greater than 9•5 metres in length (excluding any trailer attached to it).
I wonder how far the "reward" definition could be pushed

Is it true the changes also include a change to driving on the right side of the road? That could cause some confusion...

Is that the right side as in opposed to the left side? Or the right side as in the correct side? We've already had a few lately driving up the wrong side of the road causing all sorts of havoc so don't go suggesting that is the right side or driving over here will get even more hazardous ;)

All is not lost Geoff.........
I believe there may be some local nutters in Melbourne who are liable to light a fire drum at the drop of a Guinness and for no other reason than they can, and/or it may be cool.
