No wonder she goes to bed early at night and her spelling gets wonky, one pot screamer
Thanks Lesley x

Re: Time for us to start praying for rain
WE had some where north of 350 mm over nite, we are now our own little island.
Rain gauge couldnt cope.
Looks like all our neighbors are ok as well from what I can see.
All roads in and out are closed.
Bernie.

Rather wild and woolly here over night. Still raining and windy. Hope it doesn't get any worse than this.
Cheers

Re: Time for us to start praying for rain
Well we haven't had any rain here for around 3 months. (any more than 3 drops)
Time for you 'Tree frogs' up there in swamp land to migrate South this time of year like most of us go North in our winter.
Can't understand what you are all doing still up there!!!
Hope you're all safe & sound.
This morning we have total calm, bright blue sky, sea a flat sheet of glass & boats out fishing by the hundreds.
Yachty mate left last night on the tide to go to the wooden boat festival in Tassie.
He's got crew to go down but none to come back.
Anyone interested in a trip yell out. (Tas to mainland)

Bernie, It's good to hear you are OK. I have been trying to ring you. Probably a mobile problem if you still have internet. My rain gauge only goes to 125 mm and it filled up last night.BernieQ wrote:WE had some where north of 350 mm over nite, we are now our own little island.

Re: Time for us to start praying for rain
It started to rain here last night some time, got woken up to go and close the roof vent on the Mazda because the batteries are disconnected so it didn't do it on it's own. There wasn't enough rain to wet the drop sheet over the bed
there still isn't enough rain falling to keep the road wet, just clouds so the solar struggles, same as it has been for a while now, no useful rain.
Funny thing is, the lawns and nature strips are brown and dead with a few little strips of green near anything concrete, the grass growing in the cracks in the roadway is green though

Jez you could cut and bail the grass up here, two days after mowing it looks like you haven't done it for weeks and its thick and green. This saturating its getting from the north of going to make it and the mozzie's go mad. Getting buck loads of driving rain at the moment and the rivers on its way up.

Re: Time for us to start praying for rain
Hi, all.
Maroochydore State School only has eight vehicles still camped on the lawn. Stories abound of 5th wheelers and heavy buses being bogged down in past years, as the grounds are mainly flat with comparatively little run off. To make matters worse there's only one sheltered concrete pad, normally reserved for chapter head's brand new Sunliners and the like. On the bright side, the pad holds our Talvor and the BT rather well.
The nice weatherman just mentioned that northern NSW are copping it next, and that parts of Bundaberg are being evacuated at present.
See you on the back roads,
shonky et al.
