Dump Points Canada style

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Dump Points Canada style

Post by Swisslulu »

I thought you might be interested to see the very best Dump Point we came across during our 30 day motorhoming trip through British Columbia and western Alberta.

Called Sani-dumps over there, this one in Mount Kidd RV Park in the Peter Lougheed Provincial Park on the Kananaskis Highway in Alberta had 8 individual dump points complete with rinsing water hoses and a separate potable water tap a few meters along from each dump point. The park has hundreds of sites. Most of which were occupied.

That's Erich doing the deed in our rented Motorhome. We avoided rush hour by leaving around 9am.

This highway closes during winter and only opened the week before we arrived.

Hi Lesley,
Spiffy stuff!
Came across a similar set-up in one of the tiny little towns (pop:150) in WA -- can't remember where. Had to go 'round the block from the main street, and across what looked like a farmer's paddock with dirt wheeltracks. But half-way across the track was a set of 4 posts like your pic, with a T-piece left-or-right access pipe in the centre -- screw-cap covers on chains both sides... at a reasonable height off the ground to save us Geriatric Gypsies bending over. ;) Some thought went into that one.
Also, if you've been to Casino Village (wash my mouth with soap! :D) they have one which you drive over, and can dump through a grid at any point, then wash down with a high-pressure hose. Potable water nearby, too.
Regards & God bless,
Ray

8 dump points, you expect something like that near a major political meeting place eh

We also saw a few that were the same type of set up but just 2 dump points, one for each direction of travel.

Most dump points in the US and Canada are very similar to that picture, usually two at a minimum, even found a few in rest areas on major highways with similar facilities.
