Thank you Candidate 3 and welcome to a different type of forum than perhaps what maybe you are used to.
Rick I take it that you have read the entire thread and thus far have not corrected any previous posts relating to the Wanderer advertisement issue. I am sure a good many of us look forward to your input on here.

Re: CMCA Elections 2017
Your forum, Bruce. I have no wish to make things difficult for you so want to stay inside the bounds.
I notice Candidate 3 has joined the forum. I hope that is more an indication of a stated intent to be accessible to members. Bland statements that accompany candidacy declarations have likely been trImed and spun to present the best possible light.
I hope the hit count for the thread is an indication of a wider interest in those eligible to vote in the CMCA election. A larger than historical turnout of voters would be a good thing for the CMCA.

Re: CMCA Elections 2017
I notice that things on this thread have quietened down.
I sincerely hope the enthusiasm for a big voter turn out has not died down.
Maybe someone knows what the maximum possible vote is.
Is it in the order of 50,000?

Re: CMCA Elections 2017
I'd reckon 6 or 7000 would be a good figure!
I really have no idea as I've divorced myself from the club over the last few years.
If the current elected members aren't behaving & doing their job properly you'll soon see the numbers bothering to vote rise.
Most have no idea really what the job of the elected ones is....
Point the direction & use a big stick to ensure the "paid staff" follow that direction.
I wish you luck Rick but don't take it too hard which ever way it goes.
Are things "peaceful" over there at the moment?

I think you have that the wrong way round unfortunately Bruce. I believe the 'power' lays with (some) paid staff.

Re: CMCA Elections 2017
It would be interesting to know just how many actual eligible voters there are for this up coming election. The official membership figures are a work of fiction to put it mildly, the use a figure like 50,000 is rather naïve I fear, the churn rate is far higher than acknowledged by head office so the over all percentage eligible to vote out of the membership numbers put forward is an unknown to any but a select few.

I'd guestimate that to be a close guestimate

Re: CMCA Elections 2017
Very hard to find CMCA members in the free camps we have used in the last few weeks. Any associate members I spoke too did not care they had no vote as they would not have voted, anyway. The few full members I spoke to mostly did not know an election was coming and, also, were not going to bother now they knew. I might have convinced a couple to at least have a look at the field. Will be easier for them now that I told them who they should vote for, and why.
