I sort of recall that they were exxy and it was cheaper and simpler to fit a mixer tap/control

The thread should be the same Dot. Usually 3/8 or 1/2 BSP or NPT

here's what I have, simple and cheap from Bunnies or similar some time ago. Just rotate the rear disc to turn off.

It is possible to buy just the switch which you fit into the hose just before the hose attaches into the handle.

Most parts suppliers are likely to have them.

They are easy to use as you can operate them with your thumb, one handed.
