"Same with the bus, used agm then gel and never had enough power for much beyond tv, 60lt 12v fridge radio and charging phones. Now have 480ah lifepo4 and 1kw solar and run everything you can think of, just like being home and can go many days without much sun."

Well Thanks for total convincing native pepper... won me over, Want to measure twice, install once and get it right...

Sure is a different language Watts = spots in front of my eyes then the "too hard" mist sets in and it's all over

Startin to get a bit of a grasp of it now but...!!! :)

A few cases of the right plonk, a bit of sweet turps...!!!

Vik, been doing this for a long time and still can't grasp the technicalities of it all, just go by what I see, am told and how it either works, or doesn't work. But well worth the effort of learning a bit about it when you experience the results.

Took me a long time to remove the lead acid complex and replace it with lifepo4 understanding, but my 120ah pack which is a real portable and powerful power supply, continues to fascinate me with what it does, after 10 years and I carry it around in one hand.

Have run a MIG welder of it a couple of times, when having to repair a piece of broken machinery well away from power. The only thing that struggled, was the inverter, which was quite warm by the time had finished.

150W ?? Wow!!
Time for some updates there Vik!! ;)
Does your Winni have a generator built in? Do you know the size of it?
If you don't want to go the whole hog, there is a good unused one (inverter)
for sale on Gumtree I think? Maybe sold now?

Built my first inverter with a dick smith modified sine wave kit back in the early 1980's, when thought I would finally be able to get into electronics. Even built a computer and electronic piano from kits and lots of other things, can read a circuit diagram, but have no idea of how to make one up or what most of the components do within the circuit. Seems I have this mental block when it comes to physics and technical writing, same with music, still can't read music but can pick up the song within a verse and chorus of hearing it.

The kit inverter was 300w and built a house with it, using circular saws, drills, etc. It ran off the battery on either my tractor or car and even ran the band on it once, weighed a ton. Think still have it somewhere, the inverter I used to run the MIG is a 1000/2000w chinese model and still works fine in the workshop. Had to replace the pack to inverter wiring after, the plastic covering had melted in spots. Don't think it was designed to run a MIG, luckily it only had to work for a few seconds for each weld run and then let it sit before going again.

Na Bruce, mines got the generator slide door for one, rather not have one if I can get away without... Do it tough ...

I bought a Jaycar job Powertech 400W P.S.W. inverter when they were on special, even got a fan and all, but reading on here it's only for the pidly stuff .
Will sort that out, not gunna do another 12 volt related thing until I have seen the man...
