Had a senior moment yesterday .
I have the compressor pump and injector pump installed , when I put the timing gear on the compressor pump it would not go all the way down .
It stuck up about a 16th , the other three gears are flush . As the pics in the manual shows the gear flush I thought I had a problem , maybe the keyway was not in properly and was stopping the gear from seating . So off came the gear again , after farting around for a bit I thought I would try the gear without the keyway in place , same thing still wouldn't go all the way in . So then I thought maybe the new pump had a different shaft ?
So as I was running out of thoughts....and patience I decider to try it on the old pump...same bloody thing not all the way down and the same amount of shaft exposed .
NOW comes the Senior moment hang on I sez I took photos of it before removal ....YEP guess what it was standing proud before I removed it .
So I'm sitting in the naughty corner with my dunce hat on .
Bernie .
A pic with the air pump on .

Starting to look the goods Bernie!
Seems a fair bit of tilt down on the motor or have you jacked the front up a bit?

With the motor at that angle Bernie, it will always thing it's going up hill, that could be part of the performance problem

When you fit a six speed, the mating angle of the gearbox is different.

It changes the angle of the motor and therefore you get the improved performance.

You need to cut a hole in the floor and raise the gearbox so the engine faces down hill, then it will go much better cause everyone knows how much better these big buggers run down hill than they climb up hill........
