Re: CMCA board results
Hard to believe anyone would actually take the trouble to vote only to get it wrong and marked informal
I've been reading a series of books by Arthur C Clark where all elections for the presidential office were via random computer selection from a ballot consisting of all people qualified for the position. Any volunteer or person promoting themselves for the position were immediately disqualified because it was deemed they planned to use the position for personal gain. One reported added that the system was really looking for those who would be kicking and screaming as they were dragged to office and an incentive of a reduced term should be offered for good performance..... now that would stop all this election nonsense eh

A person may fail many times, they only become a failure when they blame someone else John Burrows

Yeah, one has to laugh when caravan folk state their reason for not joining as they don't get to cast a vote, wonder how many of the associate members would have voted if they were given the chance, probably not many.

Don't forget Lance ,all CMCA members pay fees.I think the CMCA do a fantastic job with their promotion of the RV etc lifestyle.
Most people don't vote 'cos they're very lazy or they just plain forget, ( hang on , what are we writing about)
or they just leave it to a
select handful who are very dedicated. Just my thoughts.

Re: CMCA board results
IMHO voting within organisations when voters don't know, and more particularly can't really know, the candidates results in the election of random officials rather than competent officials. Think Local Councils, and Governments. I don't think voting in any election should be compulsory. In the case of elections for organisations such as CMCA I cannot vote for candidates I do not know, therefore, I hope that the few who did vote are the few who are in a position to know and form an opinion about the suitability of all candidates. Self promoting resumes and recommendations via social media are of little help.

Re: CMCA board results
Post Script.
I didn't vote. I pay my dues. I am grateful for the CMCA benefits that are useful to me. I don't agree with everything CMCA does, e.g. establishing parks for Campervans and Motorhomes only - how does that help unify all RVérs in fighting for facilities and benefits.
