"""" silence is Golden """"

We just had the AGM here at the Marina.
When there are major issues that many don't like there is always a lot of nominations and almost everyone votes.
When things are rolling along nicely you get what the CEO describes as Apathy...
Everyone is free to nominate if they aren't happy?

there was talk of starting up an Aussie Apathy self help group, but no one turned up to the first AA meeting because they couldn't be bothered

We are members of the CMCA, we did read all the info available re candidates & we did vote.
We personally think the CMCA parks are a great member benefit, the CMCA has done heaps in the last 15 yrs for the travelling
RV community 👍👍

No attack or anything personal meant here Shirley, just something we noticed and was echoed by Cuppa at the last Taggerty get together. When we were CMCA members we defended them to the hilt.... well right up until we decided that after 15 yrs continuous membership (at least I think it was 15 yrs) the club was not the same organisation we joined back in '98 and was not even a shadow of the club founded in 1986 by Don and Erica Whitworth. Once we had dropped our membership we found we were no longer defensive of the CMCA.
As far as Cuppa, any comment that was negative of the CMCA immediately fired Cuppa up, but at the last Taggerty Cuppa said that now he was no longer a member the defence mechanism was no longer triggered either....... seems members fell compelled to defend any negativity towards the CMCA but that defence drops as soon as the membership ends, I wonder why that defence mechanism is so strong? It's almost like one eyes football fanatics eh

Totally agree Terry the CMCA is certainly not the club it was 15 yrs ago but time moves on & really what is the same as it was 15 yrs ago, wish I was the same as I was 15 yrs ago   as I have posted before we are not rally goers or chapter members but still feel that our $44 membership per year is money well spent to belong to an organisation that does strive to improve conditions for RV travellers, the number of dump points that have been installed Australia wide in the last 15 yrs that the club has been involved in is just one great benefit for all RV travellers.

I totally agree Shirley. Putting club politics aside, the changes and the benefits for all travelers provided by the CMCA since I joined 18 years back have been great.

As far as the dump points, agree totally regarding roll out but remember it is paid for by govt funding not by the CMCA company putting up the
$$, the CMCA is just the group given the job of organising it, if it wasn't the CMCA then quite likely some other interested part would have put their hand up for the job. As for RV friendly towns accreditation, what does that cost and who foots the bill?

Only costs the CMCA a few bucks for the signs I think Terry.
The council get given the requirement & if all are fullfilled they get the "kit".
Recently the CMCA have been taking a few off the list.
I reckon Kingston SE might need removing too since they removed the FREE bit recently.
Robe has been removed from the list too.

Maybe Mannum should be too since it's not free anymore too?

If that were the case then there should be more dump points around acknowledging those other interested parties?
