She left her mark and the world is better for her having been a part of it.

Cancer is a bugger of a thing. Nearly everybody has had a brush with it either with a diagnoses or knowing someone close with it. I am in awe with people that have the courage not only to fight it but to devote their short lives raising awareness and raising money for research into it. I have just recently lost my brother with first prostate cancer and then was diagnosed with bowel cancer probably caused with the ray treatment of the prostate cancer. I would have curled up in a corner and died but he battled it for nearly 10 years until it finally beat him.
They are making small advances all the time and I do think eventually they will be able to successfully treat most cancers.
Just of interest my niece at the age of 14 was one of the very fist to be treated with chemo for bone cancer back in 1974. She is a survivor but has a lot of health problems especially with her heart.
With heartfelt sadness for anyone touched with it. John

My Sis had a mole removed from her face at 14 by an idiot GP, I can still recall the near death visit where we said goodbye.
Now over 70 and slowing, but cancer free, yep they are getting better all the time...
And did you see the story about the Brisbane researchers that are 3D printing new cartlidge for your knee, infused with your stem cells ?
Bloody amazing
William
