It's a 1" diameter fan. Not going to set the world alight - even if you put a match to it.

While we have the fan and filter mounted on the door of the cassette compartment you can take the vent up to the roof if your build allows it. We have a poptop which goes right to the edge of the roof so it isn't possible in our situation.

We have had a SOG fitted to our last three vans. I do still add some Sodium Percarbonate but the best feature is that no matter how powerful last nights curry was there is absolutely no chance of rendering the inside of the van "out of bounds" while attending to your morning constitutional ;) :) They are a bit pricey for what they are and I know of several fairly successful DIY versions. Accurate mounting of the micro switch is the trickiest part.

And therein lies the No 1 reason for installing a SOG - a habitable van. If you think they are not as effective as chemicals, nobody said you can't use chemicals as well.

I reckon we should come up with some designs to suit the porta-potti and cassette toilet, grey tanks and print them with a 3D printer. An easy to replace filter using a spray painters mask cartridge and a fitting system to send the cleaned air either out the side, out the back or over the roof.... maybe a feed into the exhaust for those with a motorhome or the air input side of the diesel heater burner so the fumes are toasted on the way out..... kinda like the treatment that curry you had last night
