Nice large area here at Warra and the unexpected happened  a winnie just had to park within spitting distance from us, no other units in but oh no,, what is the thinking on having to be right in your face?? Radio is on the doof doof station but even that is not working plus it is driving me mad, maybe I should just go outside. (no comments from the peanut gallery either)

'tanks' here---Dot, yes all safe and sound at the 'bunker' . We counted 5 cars drive past yesterday while we were on the front stoep doing "car patrol", but only got a score of 4.5 because one car only drove half way along the street. We all had a WEIS BAR each and then for some reason we all had a little snooze while watching tv.
Bob and Joy took me out dining [Dysart style] for the night and we had a nice evening meal capped with a very nice Brown Bros red at the Bowls Club on Sunday night. Mr Russell played guard dog while we were absent and made us welcome when we returned to the 'bunker' so all is well.
Keith.

I even got to watch the V8's yesterday, Tander did really well to get a Holden into 4th position on the last lap or so to break up that list of Holdens in the also ran rankings ;) :D But the Holdens did stand out in the DNF grouping.....

It could never be as bad as the late 70's or maybe early 80's when all the 308's were dropping pistons and having to pull over. I think even old Dicky Do Do dropped a motor then but he blamed it on his engine builder and said he must have used Holden pistons. That was back in the day of constructive answering, before too many genius' got involved.

That untrained engineer from the South Australian bush built a 308 that beat the factory Chev engines, so maybe it was a little to do with the engine builders, but I think more to do with better oils, engine management systems and the move to E85 fuel made the engines so reliable that nursing the engine in the early race stages became a thing of the past. I remember Wayne Gardener dropping a leg out of bed over the top and blasting the officials for not waving the oil flags causing him to drive the thing into the fence.... hard to signal a driver they are the ones spraying oil under their own tyres eh

What did you expect from a bike rider?? Some blokes that I knew back then, bought that car and ran it for a few years. I crewed with them back in '96. That was a very interesting ??? experience.
