The other half of Swisslulu. Good to see a friendly forum.
Some of you probably know me from our travels. I recently took a voluntary redundancy and in theory should have more time to travel. Hasn't happened so far. But come March next year I hope to be on the road for 6 months - Easter we will be in Whitfield for the UWE of the other forum.
Currently in process of doing various upgrades to the tug. Quite confused about
- Suspension Upgrade: upgrade shocks and struts - but should I go for airbags or a lift with new coils?
- Bull bars: Aluminium or Steel?
- Fridge Battery in tug: How to connect, where to store, which type
- Is a snorkel really worth it?
- Should we have a second spare wheel for the tug - and where would we store it?
Not expecting answers here, just letting you know what I am currently thinking about.
Hope to meet many of you on the road.
Erich

Hi Erich, good to see you here. If you ask those questions in the right area I'm sure there will be heap of help.... well sure might be stretching it a bit
I'd go the coil springs with the air bags in them, then you can lift it up over the rough stuff and drop it down for the highways and definitely an alloy bullbar, no point in writing the car off behind the bullbar but the bar itself still being perfect, you need it to kock over the little stuff but take some of the punishment and absorb some of the impact if you hit the bigger stuff. don't know anything about batteries

I have been on the lcool forum quite a bit. I found that lots of their stuff relates to roughing it with the cruisers, which is not what I am interested in. But if you pick the posts that relate to you, you can learn heaps.Chuck wrote: If you haven't already had a look here... http://www.lcool.org ...it's worth a visit, lots of Toyota stuff there, will be joining shortly myself.
Today I have ordered Old Man Emu struts and shocks as well as heavy duty airbags for the back only. Installation on Friday. I decided against the coil upgrades.

The weight is going quite well - down about 8kg since Kerang. To get to half the size you would have to cut me in half. I ignore the reference to moon....Dot wrote:Good day Erich, hows the weight loss mooner, down to a half moon yet?
