Should caravan owners undergo compulsory towing education?

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

I seriously thought about locking this thread after the first post but decided not to.
I see enough of this crap by Collyn, Peter & the rest of the Gestapo "over there".
All it does in the end is start a bunn fight & introduce another batch of laws that need another bunch of Gov inspectors to tell us how to use a urinal...........
Sorry... you asked!!

You reckon ppl here couldn't have a genuine and serious discussion about something like this Bruce ?

No big deal, lock it up if you feel it inappropriate here. ;)

Usually the only thing that is negatively affected by improper use of the urinal is one's shoes... and I thought that in context the "Gestapo" would be those limiting free discussion?

Just saying... 🤣

The question is wrong, it should read "Why shouldn't" not "Why should".

Maybe thats something the dealers could offer on a customer service basis. I agree, yet another licence to be screwed up, but some proactive stuff from the dealers could be a good start. I had a baptism by fire, a couple of goes with trailers, then straight into towing a brand new 25 footer with an HQ at the ripe old age of 21. Its been trial and error ever since!
In regard to the locking, I usually find that discussions here remain relatively civilised, this is possibly one of the few sites where a reasonable discussion can and often does occur.

............except of course those who are womanerly ;)

Personally I think a test in some form would be a definite advantage to some RVers, primarily the inexperienced ones.
But the method of testing and the implementation of the results would be a bit of a hassle to work out.
That said, it wouldn't be an insurmountable problem.

I can't back a trailer so there is NO way I would even tow a caravan just in case it became necessary to back it. IF I were to consider towing a van then I would go and get lessons before hitting the open road. But then I am a sensible female (sometimes)
