Good morning all. It will not be a very happy visit when in Townsville- my best friend from Primary School date then nursing training is now in a home with first Parkinson’s then gradual deterioration over the past few years and since we were up there 12 mths ago a rapid deterioration with Dementia which she was officially diagnosed with in June. She did not know me as Kay McLellan on phone 2 weeks ago then asked me if I would have been Kay Chapman! Typical dementia and so sad as many of you know. We were going sth but feel as thougb I need to see her. Sorry Trina and Chuckles as missing you pair as well as Jan And Berny. Live life while you can.

The great unravelling, the latest information stored is the first to go until only major events in the early teen yrs are left. The total flip from normally passive to aggressive is probably the hardest to deal with, the normally aggressive turning into little lambs at least gives a happy memory before they go completely.
My dear aunty was a strict Baptist and was also a nurse at Wollongong hospital from her early teens. The unravelling was like a history doco about the life back then and some of it would make the latest allegations regarding inappropriate behaviour seem like school yard stuff, power corrupts and it has always been that way it appears. The complete switch in her case was from a virtual puritan to a some what promiscuous 80 yr old. A few stories filtered through after her passing of aunty sending a few old timers to their grave a tad early but with a smile on their face, I kinda like the thought of going out in similar circumstances
Let's face it, until they find an answer we will probably all suffer from it in some form because most of the things that killed us before we reached that stage have been sorted.
I have been diagnosed with trauma induced dementia similar to the fate most boxers suffer, mine is a result of the car accident 14 yrs ago, I just accept that none of us live for ever so something has to do us in. Let's hope they find a fix for this one so future generations done have to go through it, it is too late for anyone who already has it even if there are no obvious signs yet.

It is such a cruel disease, having lost family members to it, it is so much harder for those around the sufferer who are left to witness the progress and knowing the outcome. You find joy in the moments of lucidity and the opportunity to communicate at that moment. Life ain’t fair.

Morning all been relaxing have my morning Be a human fix aka several coffees. Another nice day started at sunrise but now the humidity has set in. Temperature was around 35 c yesterday and they are expecting higher today.

Love the way expected temperature is given from the stations down on the coastal flats. We are only about 20 k in a straight line but 130 m up and average 4 c hotter than what they expect.
