I think all is ok had to contact the specialist as where some of the stitches are deciding if they should come out or not have some pus around them but he was certain as long as I keep them draining and keep up the salt water rinses up things will be ok till I see him on Tuesday. The district nurse came today and the neck hole is looking good and the steri strips are doing their job so that means no stitches to close it on TuesdayRobertNotBob wrote: ↑Sat Dec 02, 2017 8:25 am How is it all going Dot trust you are still healing well. Re: NO Hungi for this Tongueeeeeeeeeee
Managed some shredded chicken for tea and G made some of his yummy custard. Tomorrow we are off to see the #2 specialist and really hoping the neck hole has responded to my steri strip treatment else he will want to sew it closed and I don't want that
I think he will be pleased with the leg graft, the neck slash and the wrist graft . The stitches in the tongue are a real PITA as they are dissolving from underneath but are determined to make the most of their stay by hanging on down the throat and some may know what that feels like!!
Hope he will cut them out. I start speech therapy soon and I shall be learning how to speak and swallow, tongue exercises including poking tonguearn right out then back in then side to side etc I can do 3 out of that 4 but finding the poking to the left near impossible, bloody arm won't listen
Also will drop into see my mate AJ the super physio for a tune up and a natter. So hopefully a good report tomorrow arvo. C U x

Back in the day, when we stuck our arm out to make hand signals .... I am just imagining what your tongue would do if you stuck your arm out of the car window.Dot wrote: ↑Mon Dec 04, 2017 11:49 pm Managed some shredded chicken for tea and G made some of his yummy custard. Re: NO Hungi for this Tongueeeeeeeeeee
Dr went to do my BP and this uncontrolled thing in my mouth shot out
Saw #2 specialist today, he is very pleased, even got him to help a few stitches out, he said there were 4 specialists in on the tongueeee action, him and his off sider and the #1 specialist and his off sider, Q/ How did all of them manage to get in there??
See him again in 3 mths and I see the #1 surg on the 15th Dec..He also said it may take up to 18 mths for the taste buds to adjust, bloody hell so bland no taste food for a bit longer
Neck hole is 99.9% closed
Starting speech therapy next week sometime. So far so good

Well, you know that big neck cut,.... maybe the tongue came out thought there and it was sort of an out of body experience.
