What did you get for Christmas ?
Or more to the point of this thread............

What did you get for Christmas that you didn't want and don't need ?

I guess most of us have at some time been given a gift that didn't really fit or suit our lifestyle...
That bottle of Port for the non-drinker.....
Steering wheel cover for a non-driver......
A bright green toaster to put on the pale blue kitchen bench.....

What do you do with the 'unwanted' gift after the festivities have died down ?
Op Shop, back of the cupboard, rubbish bin or maybe you re-gift at a later time to someone else.

A goat and a couple of chickens and a Bible. Well, not exactly for me, but bought for a needy family in our name. Past needing or wanting gifts for ourselves.

I am the recipient of a re-gifting most years.
My brother-in-law gets a bottle of scotch for his birthday each year and it gets passed on to me at Christmas.
I like re-gifting...

The only gift I wanted this year was the power of speech. My voice has been missing in action since recent throat surgery and I was hoping - but Santa let me down.
I did miss the phone calls to my siblings.

There are some signs of progress so maybe by Easter...

I got a garden statue of 3 meerkats see, hear & speak no evil.

We have never bothered with gifts but due to someone missing my birthday I think he thought he had better redeem himself

I have no real need or wants for Christmas or birthdays, my son in laws family is large and there is Christmas eve getogether, and Christmas day breakfast and lunch all hosted by different members of the family each year.

At each function there is a secret santa and my only need at this time when asked is a bottle of cab sav. Once again
I am heading home with about 14 bottles of good red wine. How many make it home is another question. Always need red wine but rarely need material possessions.

Must admit this year my son gave me a Bose bluetooth speaker for the van and that will come in handy.
