Kombi, camper, pop top, bay window

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Kombi, camper, pop top, bay window

Post by Lance »

This is probably for Terry but open to any thoughts.

I've had a chap contact me looking for a camper, specifically a Kombi, pop top, bay window.
He doesn't want a rebuild or any major work needed, more or less something needing a bit of a tidy up and head off next week end.

I'm going to suggest he join up here to follow the on topic conversation and hopefully we may be able to point him at something that suits his needs.

Any thoughts ?

Sort of OT, but this morning I saw the straightest original Kombi that I have seen for years. No Safari windows, just clean and straight, lowered a bit and radial tyres. It looked great!

Yeah I think you're right Dot.
It is a bit of an 'ask', but ya just never know do ya :)

I'm not sure yet if it's got to be a Kombie but we'll find out.
He did sound as though that was his goal.

I hope he has been saving up for a long time! If there were one to be found.

I should have taken a photo of the one i saw at the back of Newman. Had been parked upside down for about 30 yrs or so. Needed some parts. Probably no good, wasnt a bay window model.

There was a yellow pop top older style 70's Kombi, not a splitty and didn't have safari windows, a later slightly rounded model for sale somewhere on one of the main roads heading north out of Newcastle, think Mayfield/Sandgate area for sale $25k from memory.

There is a business in Belmont North, south of Newcastle, which seems to specialise in refurbishing combis as there is always a few on the premises.
