.....and so we move on.....

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Polly Waffle.................5 pages of search finds, and now we move on to Violet Crumble........ :)

Nestle sells Violet Crumble to FruChocs manufacturer Robern Menz

The Violet Crumble bar, beloved by sweet tooths across the country for more than a century, is set to return to Australian hands.
Swiss food giant Nestle has agreed to sell the brand to South Australian confectioner Robern Menz, best known as the manufacturer of FruChocs.

Sneaking a violet crumble bar in the pool doesn't sound as much fun as a Polly waffle log in the pool now does it?

As soon as I saw the reference to Polly Waffles, I can't get this image outa my head.
Remember Bert Newton showing a toy one Christmas, that he had found worked very well when you fed it a polly waffle, it then pooped out said polly waffle onto the carpet and it caused a huge stir in lala land.
It was one of those weird Moonface and Don Lane moments that I can't get outta my head now.

FruChocs were yummy when they were made from Aust. dried apricots. Terrible things today with very little apricot taste. When I was a kid at the picture theatre we either had FruChocs or Choc sticks at interval.

It's an Adelaide thing - although you can get them elsewhere.

I had a bit of a laugh about the SA govt giving a grant to assist getting Violet Crumble Bars back into production by a SA company, yet there is a big outcry lately about sugar over load and the affect it is having on the population.
They always gave me a toothache so I doubt I'll be rushing out to buy one, but a polywaffle is a whole different story, will these be the next retro return to Aust manufacture ..... hope so

Polywaffle has been re-invented as Waffle Log. Dot can get you some from the Lolly Shop in Strathalbyn - if you're nice to her.
