Re: Where's Bruce?
Today we caught a carp who had his childhood all stuffed up.
I've never seen a fish like it before. Instead of having regular sized scales on both sides, he had a half a doz scales perfectly grown as one in bands. He was fit & healthly other than his scales.

Fisheries (or whoever runs the show down there) might be interested in that one Bruce. Very weird.
Full time on the road in an Alpine 2855

Re: Where's Bruce?
Got a reply back Craig. In SA it's called PIRSA rather than fisheries.
Hello Bruce,
Thanks for your email, the fish you have caught is a mirror Carp. They are quite common in South Australia, especially in the Lower Lakes region.
Thanks for the information on Catfish. It would great if you could keep PIRSA updated on Catfish numbers caught.
Regards,
Jono

Re: Where's Bruce?
Well we have an update!!!
We took possession of our new (to us) houseboat on Wed 17th Jan in Morgan, SA.
We intend taking a couple of weeks to wind our way back to Mannum.
We have a couple of 'rope throwers' on board for the trip South.
Dot & George as well as Brian. (Homeless) Brian the cat is also onboard.... (confusing?)
Due to being in the middle of a stinking hot heatwave we have had to make early rises so we could get the 'ship' stocked, fueled and familiarise ourselves with the water, fuel and electrical systems.
First day (Sat) traveling was started at around 11AM and ended at Murbko.
2nd day (Sun) we made it to McBean Pound which is within striking distance in the AM of the Blanchetown Lock.
Sorry about the bad quality photo but you can see we have to move the little ship so he won't get squashed in the lock.
