A long shot

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Are any forum members stonemasons or have experience with old, stone houses? Or, anyone know anyone?

Thanks :)

There are volunteers that have been restoring Farina for a few years ( it's on my bucket list ) working with a couple of stonemasons. They might know of someone to do the job but I would imagine most stonemasons would be getting a bit long in the tooth now. There was a B&B built down here a couple of years ago with stone recycled from an old farmhouse that looks great and the owner was lucky enough to get a backpacker that was a qualified stonemason. Cheers John

Hi John, yes I’ve seen about Farina on TV, that’s what made me think of asking on here. There was one guy in Wirabarra and another mobile guy who advertises on TV in SA. I’ll have to do some Googling.

Not a stonemason, but a builder/renovator, built a few stone houses and restored a couple of old ones back in my day. if you need workers, can't help, If you need some advice, may be able to help there. It also depends on the type of stone, if it is remedial work, the type of construction method they used in constructing it, makes a difference to how to go about it.
